When professionally installed,
3M™ Scotchshield™ film is invisible, and forms a protective
shield that resists penetration and helps keep glass in place through
attempted break-ins, vandalism, storms, earthquakes and explosions.
3M™ window film was put
to the test in Oklahoma City in 1995, as evidenced by this letter written
to the President of 3M™ by a man whose office was six blocks from
the Federal Center. He believes that the 3M™ Scotchshield™ window
film in his office saved him from severe injury or death.
Security film can also minimize
damage to the interior of your building by preventing broken glass from
embedding in carpets, furnishings, computers and other equipment, thus
accelerating the clean-up process. If injuries do occur as a result of
one of these events, the installation of 3M™ Scotchshield™ film
can be used to show due diligence on the part of ownership or management
in taking steps to improve occupant safety.
