About Us

I would personally like to thank you for your interest in Energy Control Consultants.
ECC began as a wild idea in the head of a young, idealistic architecture student. That idea was that there was a market for high quality window treatment laminates, backed by superior service, in the eastern Tennessee area. In the 25 years since that time our commitment to excellence in product and service has only intensified.

In 1983, while student in the College of Architecture at the University of Tennessee, I was presented the opportunity to become the local dealer for 3M's Architectural films based on having been involved as an installer for a major 3M dealer previously. We have been involved in the window industry constantly since then, offering advanced solutions to the problems created by excessive solar heat gain, winter heat loss, and the bleaching and fading effects of sunlight on furniture, artwork, carpeting, and other home furnishings. We have built close relationships with many of the prominent glass and window companies, interior designers, architecture firms and major contractors here in eastern Tennessee. Our original decorative products have been produced for other 3M dealers from across the United States.

We are proud of our close association with 3M™ and the Scotchtint Architectural Film line. We were selected to be a member of the 12 member 3M Dealer Council in 2000, becoming the representative from the smallest market ever to be appointed to the council. 3M was the inventor of the window film manufacturing process, holding the original patents for metalizing polyester. They have earned dozens of patents in manufacturing techniques, developing Low E applied films, Sputter Coated products, multi-laminated security products for extra puncture strength, and the most energy efficient Low Emissivity window films on the market. 3M maintains a technical laboratory entirely dedicated to our architectural film line.

Our goal is to work with a client's problems, offer solutions and creatively solve problems, producing clients that are raving fans of our product line and services. Our professional installation team is trained and equipped to carry out any installation of virtually any size, from the smallest residential window to a multi-story commercial application.
